Colored History Tales:

1. Peace is the natural state of humanity so war can never be the focus;
2. particular stores are geographically- and temporally-located - hard to tell a story about a mountain in a desert or a story about the harvest during Winter;
3. history is a series of cycles in which people learn something of value to community cohesion and survival;
4. communal and democratic - what matters is how the people fared in a particular cycle, not how an elite individual distinguished themselves by wielding power over others;
5. qualified Elders are listened to as they relay the many versions of each story.
